FEMA Independent Study Program
  • The FEMA IS (Independent Study) Program provides online, self-paced courses. Please visit the FEMA Independent Study Home for more information.
  • Independent Study Exams require a FEMA Student Identification Number (FEMA SID). The Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) is the issuing agency for this number. To register/retrieve your FEMA SID number or for further assistance with your FEMA SID account, please visit the FEMA SID website.
Required Training
  • This curriculum educates and trains individuals (ages 18 & up) in basic emergency response and disaster preparedness skills. You will learn to help yourself, your family and your community when emergencies happen.
  • Skills taught include:
    1. Disaster Preparedness
    2. Emergency Medical Operations Part I and II
    3. Light Search and Rescue
    4. Understanding Disaster Scene Psychology, Communications and Organization
    5. Fire Extinguisher Training
    6. Disaster Simulation and Final Exam

    • IS-317: Introduction to CERT (FEMA Independent Study Course)
    • G-317: CERT Basic Training (20 Hour Classroom Based Course)
    • Warren County EMA 101 (2 Hour Classroom Based Workshop)
